We’d heard a little bit about Brandon and the Dragonette brothers making some serious Pinot Noir in Santa Barbara and what we heard was spot on. What we hadn’t heard is that they also make some delicious Rhone inspired wines and truly transcendant Sauvignon Blanc unlike anything we’ve had from California before.
They focus on terroir driven wines with serious minerality and beautiful balance. Working with sustainable, organic, and biodynamic vineyards is important to them as well “minimalist wine-making.” In most cases they do not fine or filter and rely on native yeasts. We can’t help but agree with the person who said, “Dragonette is one of the most fascinating wineries in the Central Coast. The best wines are truly world class, and I don’t use those words lightly.”
