Chateau du Coing de Saint-Fiacre isn’t just making Muscadet, they are making some of the best Muscadet in the world (not to mention a pretty killer little Chardonnay). Their “entry level” Muscadet is from vines older than most houses’ old vine cuvees. While the current owners have been making wine at the Domaine for three generations the property dates to the 15th century.
They make wines from 100 year old Melon de Bourgogne vines, they age some of their wines 5 years on the lees, they use skin contact on some of their wines, they oak age some Muscadet, they make a bubbly from Melon de Bourgogne, they even make a dessert Muscadet. It’s not hard to say that they are a unique winery.
