The last time we visited Francois Tardy he helped us fix our hubcap by smashing it with a mallet sending pieces of plastic flying across the driveway and high spirited laughter from those gathered around to watch a craftsman at work. I guess I can say that Les Champs Fournes, the barely oaked cuvee of Crozes Hermitage from Monsieur Tardy is exactly the opposite of his ideas on vehicular maintenance.
Although the Domaine has always practiced traditional wine-making they are now “all but ceritified biodynamic” Francois might say with a cocked eyebrow. Truly a good fellow and the salt of the earth we think his wines directly reflect the family that guides them into bottle.
