Domaine de la Brillane

In the year 2000, after 20 years in the financial world, English trader Rupert Birch decided to turn his back on banking and devote himself to a truly worthy cause: the creation of a vineyard and the production of wonderful wine.  He purchased a bed and breakfast and 60 acres of vineyards in the heart of the Coteaux d’Aix and Domaine de la Brillane was born. From the very first day Rupert adopted an organic approach in the vineyards and a hands off philosophy in the winery.

Corinne and Emmanuel Gensollen were looking to get back to their roots and in 2010 took the opportunity to buy Domaine de la Brillane. Totally committed to what Rupert started they pledged to “perpetuate the traditional methods of organic wine production while maintaining the sophistication of the wines, source of such pleasure.” Former assistant wine maker Brice Velluet has become the sole wine maker and oenologist Bernadette Tourelle stayed on as well.
